Initiating Capture

To begin/stop the capture of network traffic using QManager, follow these step-by-step instructions:

To begin capturing network traffic using QManager:

  1. Navigate to the Capture Setting Page:

    • Access the Capture Setting page within QManager to configure your network traffic capture preferences.

  2. Enter File Name and Directory:

    • Specify the Input File Name and Directory where the captured data will be stored.

  3. Choose Filters:

    • Select desired filters, including options like Increment File, Compression, Rotational, OoS Detect, File Size, and Packet Slicing, to tailor the capture settings to your requirements.

  4. Adjust Virtual Capture Settings:

    • If filtering is enabled, make necessary adjustments to the Virtual Capture Settings to refine the capture parameters.

  5. Save Your Settings:

    • Ensure to save your configured settings to apply them for the network traffic capture.

  6. Proceed to Capture Progress:

    • Click the “Go to Capture Panel” button to navigate to the Capture Progress page.

  7. Start Capture:

    • Click the "Start Port# Capture" button. Note that the button turns red to indicate the initiation of the capture process.

To stop capturing network traffic using QManager:

  1. Navigate to the Capture Progress Page:

    • Return to the Capture Progress page within QManager.

  2. Stop Capture:

    • Click the "Stop Port# Capture" button.

  3. Confirm Stop Action:

    • Confirm the action by clicking "OK" in the popup box. The button returns to green, indicating the successful cessation of the network traffic capture.
