Q) What type of networking infrastructure do I need in order to operate my QE Series machine?
A) Networking requirements are very minimal when it comes to the QE Series. You can follow the Quick Start Guide or the Q Manager Guide for more information.
Q) In What ways I can perform a backup of my data with QManager?
A) With Q Manager, you can perform a backup through a local snapshot, remote mirror, or a full remote mirror method. Please refer to the documentation for a more detailed guide.
Q) While performing a remote mirror or a full mirror - the network and machine slow down. What is the best way to improve the situation?
A) Performing these services requires a heavy network load. A way to improve the performance is to use a different network interface (other than eth0) just specifically for these services. It would also be beneficial to schedule these services to run during nighttime when network traffic is usually low. Please look at the documentation for more information.
Q) How long does it take for the snap/full mirror with multiple hosts?
A) Using different network interface(s) for snap/full mirrors will improve the speed of the service.
For example: 11GB with 8 hosts using only one interface
Time: 50 minutes.
For example: 11GB with 8 hosts using a different interface
Time: 30 minutes.
Also, if these services are handled through different interfaces, users will notice less 'lag' in the network.
Q) Up to how many different volumes I can create?
A) You may create up to 125 different volumes on any QE series machine.
